‘A Distilled Delight’

Toner Quinn and Malachy Bourke’s two-fiddle album Live at the Steeple Sessions received a glowing review from Siobhán Long in the the Irish Times recently, with the album described as ‘a distilled delight’.

‘This fiddle duo take palpable pleasure in stripping tunes back to barebones essence, their inventive pairings propelling the music into a place where it can be heard as if for the first time,’ writes Long, who gave the album a four-star rating.

‘These childhood friends play as if the tunes are entwined in a single DNA helix,’ continues Long, adding that the album is ‘a fine snapshot of musicians jousting playfully with the music’.
