Ergodos co-director Benedict Schlepper-Connolly will feature at the prestigious Gaudeamus Muziekweek taking place in Utrecht between 10 and 14 September.
Den Haag-based Ensemble Klang will give the world premiere of Schlepper-Connolly’s work, Field, commissioned earlier this year.
He writes of the work:
“Old maps are captivating for the way they illuminate the passage of time: how landscapes change – altered by human hand or weathering, or how they stay the same despite radical changes on their surfaces. Each acre of land contains layers of its own past, embedded and imprinted. In this work, musical material is much like earthly material: it retains many of its features over time, but its surface is continually transformed.”
The evening will also feature music by Hikari Kiyama, Maya Verlaak and Brendan Faegre. More info to be found here.
