I Call to You: “…perhaps the most important record of new Irish music released this year.”

RTÉ Ten, the Irish national broadcaster’s entertainment news website, has reviewed I Call to You, the recent Ergodos Muscians album featuring music inspired by J.S. Bach. Reviewer Paddy Kehoe gave the album five stars and described it as “perhaps the most important record of new Irish music released this year.”

“Tremulous piano, slowly drawn cello bow, beautifully appointed clarinet and violin are aiming for a kind of spellbound haven of peace. The silence between the tracks is loaded and full of mystery.”

Michael Dungan, writing in the The Sunday Times, was also impressed by the album. He writes: “The whole is unified by a wistful mood: slow, delicate pieces for two or three instruments, sometimes with voice, all atmospherically recorded with a bit of nostalgic distance.”
