The Santa Rita Concerts, our series of music and wine evenings in the Little Museum of Dublin, continues on Wednesday 25 February with SnowPoet.
London-based SnowPoet was born out of a musical friendship and understanding. Bringing together the writing duo of Lauren Kinsella and Chris Hyson, SnowPoet bring melody, form and poetry to a new setting.
Inspired in equal parts by artists such as Björk, Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, Philip Larkin, e.e cummings and Everything Everything, the group explores the beauty of the song form in all its complexity. Heavily influenced by alternative folk and indie genres, SnowPoet seek out new ways of telling a story. The nature of the music allows the group to either expand or contract: on this occasion SnowPoet are vocalist Lauren Kinsella, bassist Chris Hyson and pianist Matt Robinson.
The Santa Rita Concerts series has proven itself as a very special addition to Dublin cultural life. Each evening in the series begins at 7pm with a Santa Rita wine reception and pre-concert interview with the performer in the museum’s main Georgian drawing room space. The candlelit performance then begins at 8pm sharp in the ground floor gallery space. It’s a unique and intimate format.
