Description

Ye Vagabonds are brothers, Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn. They began playing music together on the streets of their hometown and forged a style based on close harmonies and acoustic instrumentation inspired by various folk traditions. Two years ago they moved to Dublin and quickly became familiar faces around the city’s folk and blues session scene.

Buoyed by the success of their debut EP Rose & Briar in 2015, and continuing support from respected musicians like Lisa Hannigan, Roy Harper and Glen Hansard; brothers Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn, who form Ye Vagabonds, have recently released their highly anticipated, self-titled debut album. The album is comprised of ten mellow tracks weaved with thoughtful lyrics, thickly layered with strings and droning harmonium.

Ye Vagabonds have been nominated for Best Traditional Folk Track, Best Emerging Folk Artist and Best Folk Group in the inaugural RTÉ Radio 1 Folk awards. Expect harmony rich folk music, influenced by Irish traditional music, Appalachian singing, and shades of the 1960s folk revival from this extraordinary duo.

“What’s remarkable about this collection is the richness of their original repertoire: songs written with a lyrical density and a contradictory melodic lightness of being that render them timeless….” – Siobhan Long, The Irish Times

The Santa Rita Concerts provide a unique, deeply immersive audience experience. Each evening begins at 7pm with a Santa Rita wine tasting, and a fireside interview with the artists. The performances take place at 8pm in the museum’s beautifully resonant downstairs gallery. The space is candlelit and the atmosphere highly intimate – a concentrated ritual shared by performer and audience.
